Willow Pool

At just over an acre in size, the Willow pool (also known as Paddock Pool) is the newest addition at the fishery. Built in 2017 and opened the following year and stocked with a good head of Carp to 18lb, plus Roach, Bream, Tench, Ide, Barbel, Perch and Gudgeon.

It has 26 well constructed, flat concrete pegs and heavily planted reed lined margins. It lends itself to pole, feeder and waggler fishing with depths ranging from 2-7ft.

The Carp in particular love to patrol the inside shelf which runs approximately 3 to 4 metres from the bank and can normally be found following the wind, especially in the Summer.

Best baits include pellets,corn,maggots and paste and matches have recorded weights upto 100lb.

Strong tackle is needed to tackle the Carp as they are some of the hardest fighting fish you'll find.

Lighter tackle is best to target the silverfish slightly further out in the pool.
